Geomega Magnet Recycling Demonstration Plant
Geomega Resources' rare earth magnet recycling demonstration plant in Quebec, supported by $3 million in non-dilutive funding from NRCan's Critical Minerals Research, Development and Demonstration program (announced March 7, 2023). Originally associated with Geomega's Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville base, the plant is being built in Saint-Hubert, Quebec: as of February 6, 2026, all long-lead process equipment had been delivered with the majority assembled and anchored in place, the piping contract awarded, and environmental permitting under review, with staged cold and hot commissioning planned before a gradual start-up. The plant is designed to recycle end-of-life NdFeB magnets and recover the main rare earth oxides found in magnets.
