Geology
This fossil beach placer is in the Lance Formation but cuts an arkosic sandstone in the Lewis Shale. "Heavy-mineral analysis concluded magnetite, ilmenite, xenotime, and zircon were part of the placer." (Sutherland and Cola (2016))
